Patrick Espiritu, Correspondent | In a hotly contested match up between ArkAngel Esports and Bren Esports, ArkAngel were able to overcome a 2-1 deficit to win the series 3-2 and become the Season 3 Grand Champions of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Phililippines (MPL-PH).

Game 1

Bren were favoured by the commentators early due to their aggressive line-up, which included a solid tank in Khufra. AA Jeffqt4ever’s Jawhead had a hard time during the early game due to the aggressiveness of BREN Haze’s Khufra and BREN Ribo’s Kimmy. During the mid game however, ArkAngel found their rhythm as they initiated successful ganks and team fights leading to their Jawhead getting the farm it needed. BREN Pein’s Franco had a high accuracy hooks but was unable to get kills due to the tankiness of the enemies. The double mage picks of ArkAngel successfully supressed Bren to their base in the late game. The clash in the Lord during the 13-minute mark decided the fate of the game as ArkAngel wiped Bren and won the game.

Game 2

Bren were thirsty for revenge from the get-go. Bren picked up Lunox to show that they could also use the hero and punish ArkAngel like what happened to them in Game 1. This time around, Bren dominated the whole game leaving no space for ArkAngel to farm around the map. A combination of winning every clash and getting the right objectives won Bren game 2 easily. The series was tied 1-1.

Game 3

ArkAngel looked to showcase new heroes, namely Esmeralda and Guinevere. Bren were unable to carry the momentum that they got from their domination in game 2 and found themselves on the backfoot early thanks to the hyper aggressive line-up of ArkAngel. Bren  never faltered though as they defended their base valiantly, killing every hero that tried to enter their base and end the game. ArkAngel played confidently, but the power spike of their heroes was lost. It seemed like the game would be ended by AA Jeffqt4ever’s Claude, but he ended up being killed as Bren wiped-out his entire squad. Bren ended the game as they marched mid and destroyed the base of their enemies. Championship Point, Bren Esports.

Game 4

It was obvious that Bren was hungry for the championship as they pressured ArkAngel early in the game. Every rotation of Bren was successful, but BREN Coco’s Aldous struggled as every time he used his last skill, ArkAngel found a way to reverse the gank and kill BREN Coco instead. ArkAngel found a way to rise from the grave as they outplayed Bren in the midgame. ArkAngel were successfully able to get the objectives, tying the series 2-2. The stage was set for one final showdown, winner take all.

GAME 5

Again, Bren picked Khufra, thinking they could utilize the hero to seal the fate of their enemy and be crowned champion despite falling short earlier in Game 1. The last match was an all-out brawl as both teams left nothing on the table. With AA Killuash’s Leomord continuously pressuring the top lane so he can farm well, his teammate Ryo Gusion racked up kills. The tide favored ArkAngel as they continuously pressured Bren back to their base. Even BREN Ribo’s Thamuz struggle, being unable to tank the damage coming from the enemy. On the other hand, AA Lusty’s Grock was steady as a rock. ArkAngel successfully slayed Lord, and that was the point of no return for Bren. ArkAngel sealed the game and were crowned Season 3 Grand Champions.
