Moonton developer relishes Mobile Legends’ popularity in PH

Moonton E-Sports manager Jingjie Lin admitted that the Philippines is one of the top playing countries, and he plans on further incentives for Filipinos by hosting more tournaments and offline events.

“We are already happy to see that many Filipinos playing Mobile Legends everywhere, at school or at work. We really love this country and the players, so we try to give them more E-sports and offline events – like the MLBB League that we held last year,” said Lin.

“We are trying to give them more experience since Mobile Legends is not only a game, it’s also a lifestyle.”

Lin went into detail on his support to numerous Mobile Legends tourneys all around the country. He bared that while MPL, MTC, and MSC are the only official tournaments, for now, Moonton is committed to providing additional support to other leagues by giving out prizes and optimizing gaming experience for the players.

He also hopes that his tournament will pave the way for the game’s entry into the upcoming SEA Games or even the Olympics in the near future.

“In the Philippines, for the official tournaments, we only have MPL, MTC, and MSC – that’s all the official tournaments. Other tournaments are not official, but we added support to them because we want to let all the other players join the tournaments and for them to feel that this is a great tournament to have – in which we have good prizes and good experience,” mentioned the game’s developer.

“As for now, we are in communication with the SEA Games organizers. Once the SEA Games finished successfully, that’s big news for us and for our players,” he added.

Moreover, when asked about the upcoming Season 3 of the MPL, Lin challenged other teams to step up to the plate to make the tournament more exciting and competitive.

“As an organizer, we always want to make the tournament to be exciting and the battles to be attractive. We also know that Cignal Ultra and BREN Esports are very strong, but we also want to have more underdogs to beat them. That can make MPL Philippines a great, competitive tournament,” shared Lin.
